Military-Veterans Advocacy is excited to announce that Fort Adams in Newport RI will be the site of the second annual Veterans Get Outside Day on Sunday June 9, 2024. Vendor sites will be available at Fort Adams from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the day of the event. This event will be held on the north lawn at Ft. Adams and is free for all attendees.
More than 2,000 people are expected to attend Veterans Get Outside Day. The event will connect Veterans with available resources and encourage outdoor activities to improve mental health. While the event focuses on honoring Veterans and connecting them with resources, it will be open to the public and will be advertised throughout New England and beyond.
Up to 200 vendors can participate in the event which provides a showcase for local businesses. Some of the highlights of the event include:
BOOTH FEES - $200.00; Food Vendors: $400
Vendor spaces are 10’ x 10’. Vendors must supply their own tent or canopy, tables, chairs, etc. These resources can also be rented from Ft. Adams approved vendors. If you need an area larger than 10 x 10, you will need to register for more than one space. Electricity is available for a limited number of booths for an additional charge of $25.00.
There will also be a limited number of free booth spaces for government agencies and nonprofits that provide free services to Veterans.
Vendors selling items must provide their tax ID number and a copy of their current Rhode Island sales tax permit to Military-Veterans Advocacy at the time of application. One day permits are available for the Rhode Island Department of Revenue. Vendors are also responsible for collecting 7% sales tax (except for clothing, food & some art items). If applicable. please provide a copy of your Certificate of Exemption for Artistic Works.

- Sailing lessons and excursions with Sail Newport
- Walk/run in conjunction with Run Newport

- Adaptive sports opportunities including Bike Newport
- Free hop-on, hop-off trolly to Ft. Adams and the Newport historic and tourist centers (Pending)
- Tours of Ft. Adams (paid)
- Tours of tall ship Oliver Hazard Perry RI (pending)
