Agent Orange Survivors of Guam™ was founded as an independent Facebook group in 2017 when Brian Moyer learned he had been exposed to toxic herbicides during his service as a sea-going Marine aboard USS PROTEUS (AD19) in the 1970s. Through its strong grassroots activity, AOSOG™ grew to approximately 1,500 members and ultimately partnered with Military-Veterans Advocacy®. A Members-Only group to provide critical health-related and VA-related information to active supporters was formed as part of joining MVA.
AOSOG’s primary mission under the MVA umbrella is to function as an advocate for the 52,000+ American servicemembers who were exposed to Agent Orange while serving on Guam and in other parts of the central Pacific, their dependents and the Chamorro people who continue to suffer from their ongoing exposure to Agent Orange into the 21st century.
